By 2025, the “Mae Ya” Marian Plum is poised to become the latest GI (Geographical Indication) product of Sukhothai Province.

The Mae Ya Marian Plum, produced in the districts of Sawankhalok, Si Samrong, and Mueang Sukhothai in Sukhothai Province, is characterized by its large, oval-shaped fruit. When ripe, it is yellow-pinkish-red in color, with a thick, crisp skin. The flesh is firm, crunchy, fiberless, and free of latex. The seed is small and shriveled.
