On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Mrs. Thunphitcha Theraratchanon, Director of the 2nd Regional Office of Agricultural Economics (Director of ROAE2), along with Mr. Warit Chusakul, Director of the Research and Evaluation Division, and Mr. Banphot Nuchleang, Computer Scientist, discussed and exchanged views on the research project “A Feasibility Study of the Application of Ontology Technology for an Agricultural Supply and Demand Database System.” The discussion took place with Asst. Prof. Dr. Klairung Phon-anan and faculty members from the Faculty of Logistics & Digital Supply Chain, Naresuan University, Phitsanulok Province, in the ROAE2 Director’s office.
The faculty members explained the background, significance, objectives, and research project objectives, the request for data on the supply side of key agricultural products in the lower northern region, and requested interviews and participated in brainstorming sessions on relevant topics. The objectives of this research were discussed. To study the feasibility of developing a database system for matching agricultural product demand and supply in the Lower Northern Region 1 provinces (Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Tak, Uttaradit, and Phetchabun) and to develop a framework for an agricultural product demand and supply database system, applying ontology technology.
The results and outcomes are an ontology for agricultural databases based on appropriate options, a prototype, and a database system for agricultural product demand and supply. This will be used by senior executives of provinces, provincial groups, and department heads under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to consider in planning and supporting development activities and assisting farmers at the local level, ensuring effective and efficient results.
