On June 26, 2026, Mrs. Thunphitcha Theraratchanon, Director of the 2nd Regional Office of Agricultural Economics (Director of ROAE2), participated as a guest keynote speaker for the 2026 Environmental Impact Prevention, Mitigation, and Monitoring Action Plan Project. The academic workshop, funded under a co-financing budget scheme, was hosted at Maharaj Room 1, King Naresuan International Exhibition and Convention Center (KNECC), Naresuan University, Phitsanulok Province.
The event was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, Acting President of Naresuan University, while Asst. Prof. Dr. Worasit Tochampa, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, delivered the event’s inaugural address and introductory report.
Lecture Framework: Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture
During the seminar, the Director of ROAE2 delivered a comprehensive presentation titled “Agricultural Adaptation to Climate Change, Mitigation Measures, and Resilience.” Her lecture covered several critical strategic pillars:
- Climate Dynamics & Thai Agriculture: An in-depth analysis of shifting global climate patterns and their immediate structural impacts on Thailand’s agricultural productivity and food security.
- Agricultural Carbon Footprints: Evaluating current greenhouse gas (GHG) emission baselines originating from localized farming activities, livestock, and traditional land-use practices.
- Strategic Policy Roadmap: Highlighting responsive frameworks under the Agricultural Action Plan for Climate Change Adaptation (2023–2027), which outlines 5 core development strategies for building long-term agricultural resilience.
- Driving Sectoral Climate Action: Mapping out operational guidelines to accelerate carbon-reduction initiatives across Thai farming communities to meet national net-zero and emission-reduction targets.
- On-the-Ground Adaptation Strategies: Practical advice and strategic toolkits for Thai farmers to modify crop cycles, implement smart farming methods, and adopt resilient techniques to protect livelihoods against unpredictable weather volatility.
