Director of ROAE2 attended the opening ceremony of the “10th Anniversary Farmer’s Market: Best of Song Khwae,” bringing quality farm goods and community products from over 40 booths directly to consumers at Central Phitsanulok

On October 3, 2026, Mrs. Thunphitcha Theraratchanon, Director of the 2nd Regional Office of Agricultural Economics (Director of ROAE2 Phitsanulok), attended the opening ceremony of the “10th Anniversary Farmer’s Market: Best of Song Khwae” at the courtyard in front of Central Phitsanulok Shopping Center, Mueang Phitsanulok District, Phitsanulok Province, with Mr. Jadet Jantra, Assistant Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, presiding over the opening ceremony.

The event was attended by heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, representatives of local administrative organizations, the Farmers’ Council, the private sector, community leaders, and local farmers.

Organized by the Phitsanulok Provincial Agricultural Office during October 2–4, 2026, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Farmer’s Market initiative, the fair aimed to promote marketing channels and generate sales opportunities for farmers, agricultural housewives’ groups, and community enterprises across Phitsanulok Province, providing a dedicated space for farmers and producers to engage directly with consumers.

The event corresponds with the core policies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives guided by “Agricultural Innovation for Thai Farmers’ Sustainability,” encompassing:

  • Driving market-led production;
  • Increasing farm household income through value-added processing alongside maintaining quality and safety standards to instill consumer confidence;
  • Developing farmers’ capacities to produce efficiently and market effectively, elevating them into agribusiness entrepreneurs and fostering strong group integration.

The initiative also adheres to the Department of Agricultural Extension’s Farmer’s Market Project framework, which promotes designated provincial hubs for high-quality, safe agricultural products where consumers can purchase directly from farmers.

The fair featured more than 40 booths by farmers and entrepreneurs representing all 9 districts of Phitsanulok Province, showcasing and selling premium agricultural commodities, processed products, and distinctive local goods, while sharing the heritage, local wisdom, and regional identities embedded in their products.

The event is expected to enhance market opportunities, broaden distribution channels, generate community income, raise awareness, and add value to Phitsanulok’s agricultural and local goods, while expanding public recognition of quality produce from the “City of Two Rivers” (Song Khwae).

ROAE2 Phitsanulok invites residents of Phitsanulok and neighboring provinces to visit, taste, shop, and support produce directly from local farmers at the “10th Anniversary Farmer’s Market: Best of Song Khwae” fair during October 2–4, 2026, at the courtyard in front of Central Phitsanulok Shopping Center.
