Director of ROAE2 welcomed the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives at the opening of the Northern Cooperative Leaders Network meeting in preparation for National Cooperative Day.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, Mrs. Thunphitcha Theraratchanon, Director of the 2nd Regional Office of Agricultural Economics (Director of ROAE2, Phitsanulok), along with executives and department heads under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, welcomed the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives (Mr. Nares Thamrongthipyakhun) at the Phibunwichian Auditorium, Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University (Talay Kaew Campus), Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province. Asst. Prof. Dr. Chumpol Semakan, President of Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University, delivered a welcome address, and Mr. Niran Multhida, Director-General of the Cooperative Promotion Department, gave a report.

Objective:

  • To open the Northern Cooperative Leaders Network meeting in preparation for National Cooperative Day 2026, which will be held in February 2026, marking the 110th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand’s first cooperative. (Wat Chan Cooperative, Unlimited Assets, Phitsanulok Province)
  • To present certificates of honor to the committee members, advisors, and sponsors of the event.
  • To provide policy guidance to agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to support and promote farmer grouping to increase efficiency in production, management, and marketing. In particular, the Cooperative Promotion Department is urging them to strengthen agricultural cooperatives nationwide to stimulate the grassroots economy and drive sustainable economic development.

Note: The first cooperative in Thailand is the Wat Chan Unlimited Assets Cooperative, Phitsanulok Province, registered under the Association Act on February 26, 1916, with His Royal Highness Prince Pittayalongkorn as the first Cooperative Registrar.
