OAE’s Secretary-General presided over the opening ceremony of the workshop on “Information Generation to Support Provincial Agricultural Commodity Management for ROAE1-12” under the project to enhance the efficiency of agricultural information generation and big data management in Nan Province.

The workshop was held from February 18-20, 2026, at the Nan Trunghai Hotel, Phasing Subdistrict, Mueang Nan District, Nan Province. This training was part of the project to enhance the efficiency of agricultural information generation and big data management for the fiscal year 2026. Mrs. Thunphitcha Theraratchanon (Director of ROAE2, Phitsanulok), Chairman of the Sub-committee on Agricultural Information Development of ROAE1-12 under the Executive Committee of ROAE1-12, gave a report. The Directors of ROAE1-12 also participated in the opening ceremony, watched, and listened to the training via the online system ZOOM.

This workshop was attended by 34 participants, including Directors of Agricultural Information Sections from ROAE1-12, Statisticians, and Photogrammetric Specialists from ROAE1-12. They received knowledge from 5 speakers: Dr. Jatuphon Nonthasiri, Director of the Agricultural Geographic Information Section, Agricultural Information Center; Mr. Narayut Inthasuwan, Director of the Agricultural Information Section, ROAE6, Chonburi; Ms. Chollada Phetsrisuk, Director of the Agricultural Information Section, ROAE7, Chainat; Dr. Sarun Buppasiri, Senior Statistician, Agricultural Information Section, ROAE7, Chainat; and Ms. Natthanaphat Sapthaweephonlert, Agricultural Extension Officer, Agricultural Geographic Information System Division, Agricultural Information Center.

Objectives of the Training:

• To train and transfer knowledge about the conceptual framework, models, statistical tools, econometrics, and agricultural geographic information technology necessary for compiling accurate and reliable agricultural information data for key agricultural products with potential at the provincial level, ensuring credibility for data users.
• To practice and enhance skills in applying agricultural geographic information technology by surveying, verifying, and analyzing agricultural information data for key agricultural products with potential at the provincial level, ensuring accuracy and reflecting the actual situation at the provincial level.
• To facilitate shared learning and understanding of the steps, processes, and techniques in compiling agricultural information data for key agricultural products with potential at the provincial level, creating unity within the overall context of the ROAE1-12.

The curriculum used by the instructor in this training included:

1. Understanding the basic principles, processes, methods, procedures, and application of geographic information technology (GI) in verifying the accuracy of planted area and production data. The project focuses on:
2. Spatial agricultural data compilation: Case studies of animal feed maize and coffee in Nan Province.
3. Utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve forecasting efficiency.
4. Agricultural product yield: Case study of oil palm plantation area assessment.
5. Forecasting the provincial agricultural production calendar using Moving Average technique.
6. Calculating and preparing production cost reports for field crops and horticultural crops at the provincial level.
7. Yield forecasting.
8. Area frame surveying.

In addition, field training will be conducted on the course “Application of Geographic Information Technology (GI) to verify the accuracy of planted area and yield data for spatial agricultural data compilation of animal feed maize in Wiang Sa District and coffee in Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province.”
