On May 5, 2026, Mr. Chanakan Chanprathet, Volunteer of Agricultural Economics in Mae Ramat District, Tak Province (VAE Mae Ramat, Tak Province), acted as a representative of the executives and staff of the 1st-12th Regional Offices of Agricultural Economics to join in expressing condolences to the family. He presented merit-making money along with a wreath at the cremation ceremony of Mr. Prayoon Nayong, VAE of Mae Sot District, Tak Province, who passed away from a bloodstream infection during liver cancer treatment, just 5 months after the disease was detected.

The Volunteer of Agricultural Economics (VAE) is a public-minded farmer selected by the ROAE in the responsible area to be a local volunteer. They serve as a connecting network between the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) and the local area in recording and reporting agricultural product prices at the farm gate, the production conditions of important agricultural products, and input prices in the area. They also act as communicators of knowledge and disseminate agricultural news and information from the OAE to fellow farmers at the local level.
