Director of ROAE2 attended a preparatory meeting for the official inspection mission of the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives (Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit)

On September 29, 2026, Mrs. Thunphitcha Theraratchanon, Director of the 2nd Regional Office of Agricultural Economics (Director of ROAE2 Phitsanulok), attended a preparatory meeting for the official inspection mission of the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives (Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit) at the Phra Attharot Meeting Room, Phitsanulok Provincial Agricultural and Cooperatives Office, 5th Floor, Phitsanulok City Hall, with Mrs. Jiranan Wasutheprangsan, Phitsanulok Provincial Agricultural and Cooperatives Officer, presiding over the meeting.

The meeting convened to acknowledge the itinerary and schedule for the inspection mission of the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives (Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit), and to designate inspection sites and operational assignments according to respective agency missions:

  • Site 1: Thung Talay Kaeo lowland retention area, Tha Thong Subdistrict, Mueang Phitsanulok District, Phitsanulok Province
  • Site 2: Thung San Water Gate, in front of Ho Khlong Subdistrict Municipality Office, Phrom Phiram District, Phitsanulok Province

On this occasion, the Director of ROAE2 proposed an exhibition framework highlighting the integrated operational achievements of MOAC agencies overseeing Phitsanulok Province. The exhibition will focus on applying agricultural technologies and innovations to assist the Thai agricultural sector in climate change adaptation—mitigating severe disaster risks (floods and droughts) that cause economic loss to farm households—and advancing agricultural burning reduction to curb greenhouse gas emissions and enhance the market competitiveness of Thai burn-free rice:

  • Crops (Rice):
    • Rice varieties tailored to the physical characteristics of Phitsanulok Province
    • Low-carbon rice production, cultivation processes, seed multiplication, and distribution of area-adapted new rice varieties to farmers within and outside the province to meet expanding buyer demand in line with global market trends
    • Paddy crop residue management utilizing non-burning alternatives
    • Soil analysis and site-specific fertilizer application based on soil test results to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
    • Paddy pest and disease control: The Department of Agricultural Extension (Phitsanulok Provincial and District Agricultural Offices) will present biological control agents (bioproducts) promoted among farmers to reduce input costs and enhance produce quality toward safe and organic standards under sustainable, environmentally friendly agricultural policies
  • Livestock (Beef Cattle): Fermented animal feed (silage) production to minimize enteric greenhouse gas emissions from livestock manure, as well as to lower feed costs during disaster periods (floods and severe droughts) when natural forage is inaccessible
  • Fisheries: Milestones in releasing aquatic species into community water resources to establish local food production reserves, reduce household living costs, and provide essential protein sources for community food security

Additionally, the Cooperative Promotion Department (Phitsanulok Provincial Cooperative Office) will present operational plans and outcomes in promoting the processing and marketing of newly adapted rice varieties suitable for Phitsanulok Province and comparable agro-ecological zones to foster production sustainability and sustainable income generation for farmers.

The Department of Cooperative Auditing (Phitsanulok Provincial Cooperative Auditing Office) will showcase the “Smart Me Plus” application, which records and calculates household income, expenditures, production costs, and occupational profits, empowering farmers to undertake sound financial planning and manage agricultural debt effectively.
